Afghanistan is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with over 24 million people—approximately 60% of the population—in need of urgent assistance.
Decades of conflict, political instability, and recent governance changes have worsened living conditions. Economic hardships have left many families unable to meet their basic needs and food insecurity is rampant, with millions at risk of malnutrition as agricultural production declines and supply chains remain disrupted. Fundamental rights and freedoms, especially for women and girls, have been severely curtailed, leading to widespread social and educational exclusion. Access to health care is increasingly difficult, with many facilities lacking essential supplies and trained staff. Sin-Haeng Afghanistan remains committed to providing humanitarian assistance and fostering long-term recovery in Afghanistan, focusing on creating inclusive, sustainable solutions that uplift all members of society.

WHAT WE DO IN AFGHANISTAN
Winter cash assistance in Ghor
Ghor is an isolated province and people in the region face harsh winters with critical living conditions and poor access to markets. Sin-Haeng provides cash assistance for essential goods, such as blankets and clothing, to 1,650 families.
Food security enhancement and cash assistance in Nangarhar.
Sin-Haeng provides life-saving assistance to 1,320 drought-affected households and cash assistance to 1,188 families.
Livelihood support for farmers in Logar
With this project, Sin-Haeng and its partner Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan prevent hunger and malnutrition by ensuring that affected farmers and their families have sufficient food and the means to improve their livelihoods. Through employment, agricultural resources, and training the project supports 6,315 households (44,205 people).
Afghanistan Joint Response of the Dutch Relief Alliance
As a member of the Dutch Relief Alliance, we lead a joint emergency response in the provinces of Herat, Kandahar and Nangarhar. The response addresses people’s needs by providing cash, food, water, sanitation and access to health care. The partners aim to reach more than 170.000 Afghans through their activities. In response to the earthquake in Herat in October 2023, the partners of the Dutch Relief Alliance reached 72,025 survivors with various humanitarian activities.
WHERE WE WORK IN AFGHANISTAN
We are active in a significant part of the country and deliver humanitarian assistance to people in the cities and provinces of Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Logar, Ghor, and Paktia.
